El taekwondista español Joel González le dio a España el segundo oro en estos Juegos al ganar la final olímpica de taekwondo en la categoría de menos de 58 kilos al surcoreano Daehoon Lee por 17-8.Ademas, HA GANADO: Mundiales en los años (2009 y 2011) y Europeos (2008 y 2010),TODO UN CRAK.
Hemos tenido anteriormente otro combate femenino y No fue el único metal que nos proporcionó el taekwondo, Brigitte Yagüe hubo de conformarse con la plata al caer en la final de menos de 49 kilos ante la china Jingyu Wu (8-1).
